PS4 Finally Gets External Hard Drive Support Other Features
External hard drive support is finally coming to the system via an upcoming update. Sony announced that beta program participants can start trying out the new storage option coming in update 4.50 as of today, as well as its other new tweaks and additions.
After installing the update, you'll be able to install and launch stuff right off of an external USB hard drive up to 8TB in size. The new applications appear in the Content Launcher and can be managed through the settings menu.
Other new features coming with the update include the option to use your own screenshots as custom home screen backgrounds, tweaks to notifications (such as disabling different types of pop-ups), and the ability to watch stereoscopic 3D movies with a PlayStation VR headset.
Sony hasn't said when update 4.50 will roll out to the masses.
